Pipestone Vineyards practices environmentally friendly grape production producing handmade Estate Grown Rhône-style wines from Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, & Viognier and a dry-farmed Zinfandel.
Taste the difference! Our family farm utilizes solar power, horse-drawn plowing, natural pest control as well as the principles of Feng Shui. We overlook the Templeton Gap which brings cooling evening ocean breezes to our sunny terraced hillsides. Shallow, rocky, calcareous soil, combined with our microclimate, produces wines of intense flavor and aroma.

2007 Viognier - Barrel fermented sur lie in seasoned French Oak. 100% Estate Grown. We picked it dangerously ripe to accentuate our typical intensely perfumed exotic tropical fruit flavors. It has aromas of honeysuckle, jasmine, wildflowers, tangerine peel and fresh pear. Bottled early to emphasize its lively character, we recommend you enjoy it within a few years of the vintage to fully appreciate its youthful charm. |

2006 Grenache - 100% Grenache Noir – the dark one from France! The classic based for southern Rhône wines, bottled here alone in all its glory! Dark ruby color with loads of bright red-fruit flavors: red and black cherry, dark plums, raspberry, boysenberry. And some very interesting spices: cinnamon and a touch of cardamom come to mind. Most of our Grenache goes into our traditional Rhône blend but we bottled a few barrels solo so you can enjoy its purity. |

2006 Mourvèdre - Late ripening and a pain to grow, but worth it! I love its gaminess and the depth of complexity. Mourvèdre is the third leg of the great Chateauneuf du Pape’s from France’s Southern Rhône climate. It gives the blend a gamey, wild berry, herb de Provence aroma. |

2006 Syrah / Cabernet Sauvignon - The Aussie-style blend! If crazy Australians can blend these two Noble varieties together – then so can we! A marriage of the smart and classy Bordelaise and the sensuous laid-back Mediterranean. Glass and teeth staining deep purple. Earthy mineral aromas integrated with flavors of currant, mocha, and wild berry with a great concentration. Lingering finish. Will improve greatly with 6-9 months bottle age and should age well for at least 5 years. |

2006 Estate Syrah - Grown on a south-facing hillside in the Estate Vineyard were it basks in the summer sunshine. It was hand-harvested and then fermented in small open-topped fermenters. We punched down by hand and gently pressed our “modern” Basket press, to gently extract only the smoothest tannins. Aged in French and American Oak Barrels for 24 months, the wine is a deep purple-black with aromas of spicy blackberry, smoke and even bacon fat! The velvety tannins support a strong acidity. Our 2006 Rhone Style Red blend is a classic southern French style Mélange of 40% Syrah, 30% Grenache Noir, and 30% Mourvèdre. It’s our Chateauneuf du Pape blend that has slowly become our signature wine; being so true to its southern French roots. It exudes all the warm and sensuous flavors forged by our warm and sunny Mediterranean California climate. The wine is a deep garnet color with aromas of bright red cherries, black currants, blueberries, meaty game, and classic provençal herbs and burnished smooth tannins. Match it with lamb, flank steak, roasted pork loin, or anything with Mediterranean spices. |

The 2006 Zinfandel is from our friend’s West-side vineyard located between Turley and the hospital. The vineyard is so steep that I’m afraid to walk up or down it – no kidding. It’s head-trained and own-rooted and owned and farmed by likely the only Sri Lankan grape grower in California! It’s peppery and spicy, and packs a good kick of alcohol. Good with spicy food, BBQ, or just a nice way to celebrate a warm summer evening. |

2005 Reserve Syrah - Hand selected from the rockiest and most difficult growing areas it was then aged in 100% new French Oak barrels. Only the best barrels were selected for the Reserve bottling. The wine is an intense purple-black with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, pepper and smoke. More tannic and more intense than the regular bottling, but smoother! |

2006 Chateauneuf du Pipe – A Reserve Super Rhône ® version of our Rhône Style Red Wine that was barrel aged for an extended time! It's very dark, and dense, with (we hate to admit it) a touch of the Bordeaux added! It needs something hearty and grilled or a good cigar to go with it or grilled/ smoked lamb chops, pork roast, maybe Provençal chicken. Earthy mineral aromas integrated with flavors of smoke, meaty game, black cherries and black currants, blueberries, mocha, and classic Provençal herbs. |

- I acknowledge that an adult (21 or older) signature is necessary for the receipt of wine, and I accept that there will be a redelivery fee of $15 to $30 charged to my card for returned packages if an adult signature is not available. Shippers are not permitted to leave packages without obtaining an adult signature or redirect delivery to neighbors. We recommend using a business address if you are not home between the hours of 10 AM and 5 PM.
- A late cancellation fee of $65 will be charged once shipment has been processed and shipped.
- Due to State and Federal laws we can only ship orders to addresses in the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, IL, IA, MN, MO, NH, NM, NV, OH, OR, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI and WV. This list changes daily, so call us at 805-227-6385 or e-mail if your state is not listed.
- We are required by law to charge state sales for purchases in some states outside of California. If required, you will receive an order confirmation for the total cost of your order, including this sales tax.
- Wine is sensitive to temperature. We may delay shipment for warm weather; please tell us if you want the wine shipped immediately, or if you want overnight delivery.
